How to Choose a Great Looking Kitchen Faucet

When it comes to choosing a kitchen faucet, it is hard to keep from getting intimidated by the myriad of choices out there.  There are so many styles, shapes, and colors that it can be tough to make a decision.  Here are a few tips to help you make a great choice.

The first thing you should do is set your budget.  The price of kitchen faucets starts from around $50 for the cheapest budget options and climb far into the hundreds of dollars for luxurious brand name faucets.  When you know roughly how much you want to spend, the next step is to decide on a finish for your faucet.  Faucets come in a few different finishes, which include chrome, stainless steel, brushed nickel, and bronze.  The first three mentioned are shiny silver in color, which tends to be the most popular.  However, if you are looking for something a little more un-ordinary, you might want to consider an oil rubbed bronze kitchen faucet.  These faucets are dark brown in color, and since they aren’t so common in kitchens, tend to stand out a bit more.  Although you can find a bronze faucet in a number of different styles, many of them are old fashioned looking.

As far as prices go, the cheapest options are usually those that are finished with chrome.  Nickel, stainless steel, and oil rubbed bronze usually are pretty comparable in price.  Many faucet manufacturers will take a popular design and offer it in different finishes.  Popular brands like Moen, Price Pfister, and Pegasus faucets do this.
These days, one of the most popular features that a kitchen faucet can have is a pull down spout.  What this means is that the end of the faucet comes comes off and turns into a kitchen sprayer.  This comes in handy because it eliminates the need for a separate sprayer mounted on the sink.
