Your vanity top can be made of various materials, such as stone, granite, travertine or marble. And your vanity cabinet can have an elegant wood finish, such as pine, oak or mahogany. You can go light in a wood finish or dark, depending on the decor of the rest of your bathroom and what would blend in well. For a really elaborate look, you may want to choose cabinetry with ornate door handles and drawer pulls. And your sink can be custom made or even hand-painted with a decorative motif. For a contemporary look, a vessel sink that is not mounted into the cabinetry but rather sits on top, would be unique. The design that you go with is entirely up to you, but you will have many choices available to you.

If you have an ultra-modern bathroom and are not interested in bath vanities with a wood finish, then you should consider a contemporary design, such as chrome and glass. And do not rule out a wood vanity completely. There are styles in wood that would greatly complement a bathroom of a contemporary design.

Your faucets are also an important part of your vanity. They may be brass, copper, chrome, stainless steel, or even gold. You want your faucets to complement the vanity and also blend in with the decor of the entire room.
