How To Best Use A Narrow Console Table For The Hall

A narrow hall table is a practical yet decorative way to use the hall space, especially when placed at the end of the hall, on the back wall, or near the doorway to a bedroom or bathroom. There are narrow console table designs, like the mission consoles, that are very slim and yet will be able to house small items in drawers or on shelves below the actual table. The wooden ones are great for spare towels outside the bathroom doorway, the glass ones with mirrored surfaces or metal shelved units may also be great for books outside the hall leading to a study or small library. However, if you choose to use your consoles for storage, be careful not to make them look cluttered. One good way to use a narrow console table for the hall is to opt for a design with closed shelves.

One of the best narrow hall table designs is made by Ballard Designs and is really slim yet classic wood and has shelves and drawers that are closed, yet not bulky. The Martin Console is under $400 and is classic elegance in wood with a finish called “Rubbed Cream” .  Hayneedle also carries some unusual designs in narrow hall table styles that are made by Powell Furniture, but they have some of the higher end pieces that you don’t see everywhere.

Some of the best narrow console table styles by Powell include not just a table but also a large mirror and a place for umbrellas and hanging hats. These deigns are a little more expensive, but are great space savers for an entry hall in a classic home or even smaller apartments that need a touch of elegance as you come in.

For something modern and even modular in shape, instead of square or rectangular, try Accent Furniture, where you can get fun pieces like the Sitcom Furniture, Chandra console that is really funky and practical for books, towels, or anything you need to store in small spaces.
