The Versatility of a Wood Tray

A nice wood tray can serve a variety of purposes in your home, making it one of the most useful items that can also add beauty to your home at the same time. Let’s take a look at how one wood tray can function in a multitude of different ways.

One of the most popular uses of a wooden tray is as a serving vehicle. The same tray could be used to serve the kids afternoon snacks and then, covered with a pretty napkin, serve hors d’oeuvres to your dinner guests that evening. Later on, after your guests are gone, use the same wood tray to pile up dirty dishes and glasses to bring to the kitchen.

When you are not using your tray to serve the family or guests, put it to work in other ways to keep clutter from getting out of hand around the house. You could use the tray to hold magazines and remote controls in the TV room, or to hold silverware and napkins on a buffet table in the dining room.

If you are one of those households that find mail, phones and other pocket items building up in a hallway as family members come home, why not use your wood tray there to collect all of the loose items. If you want a permanent organizer for the loose change, mail, etc, check out the wood letter trays or the wood trays that have built in compartments.

Finally, if your wood tray is not in use, why not display it on a bookshelf, mantle or on the wall. If you’ve been lucky to find a beautiful tray that you love, hang in on the wall and just take it down when you want to use it to serve guests, etc. It may become one of your favorite accent pieces. And, this way you are truly getting all the benefits of owning a beautiful wood tray.
